RANGBHARI EKADASHI 2026 - THE DAY TO START HOLI WITH THE DIVINE
Rangbhari Ekadashi 2026 is just here and it is one of the most colourful and cosmically energetic observances which is organised in the pious land of Kashi or Varanasi. Rangbhari Ekadashi falls in Phalguna month’s Shukla Paksh as per Hindu Panchang.
Rangbhari Ekadashi 2026 is all the more special as both faith and function, devotion and decoration occur at the same time. It is on this day that Maa Parvati had come to Kashi after her auspicious wedding with Mahadev making it a very beautiful and devotional time.

Rangbhari Ekadashi has deep religious and traditional significance all the more so in Banaras. Mythology states that post their divine marriage Lord Shiva brought Maa Parvati to Kashi on this Ekadashi day. The followers of Mahadev had welcomed the divinity with full hearts, colors and Gulaal, flowers, sing and dance and too much energy and vibrance.
And this is why this day came to be known as Rangbhari Ekadashi which translates to filled with colours.
Grand rallies are taken which proceed to the sacred Kashi Vishwanath Temple, where devotees offer prayer and Gulal to Baba Vishwanath and Mata Parvati. This is also the most auspicious start to the colourful festival of Kashi ki Holi.

In Kashi, Rangbhari Ekadashi is not just a religious observance but a cultural celebration. The entire city resonates with chants of “Har Har Mahadev.” The blending of devotion with the joyful spirit of Holi creates an atmosphere of divine celebration. It symbolizes the welcoming of Goddess Parvati into Lord Shiva’s abode, reflecting warmth, acceptance, and festive enthusiasm.
Rangbhari Ekadashi 2026 should be performed with faith and devotion for the best results:
1. Visit Temple : If possible visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Kashi or any other Shiva temple.
2. Offer Gulal to Lord Shiva: Offer Gulal to Shiv and Parvati to start Holi with the divinity.
3. Aarti, Bhajan & Kirtan : Listen and participate in bhajans and devotional sessions.
4. Charity : Donate food, clothes to poor and needy for Ashirwad.
5. Pray as a family: Do arti together and listen and recite Shiva Chalisa.
