On 19th February, 1630 at the iconic hill fort of Shivneri Fort, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was born to Jijabai and Shahaji Bhosale, a renowned Maratha general. Thought Jijabai was stay at home mother, she was a very determined and self-disciplined who was a strong believer of religion and this was one of the foundation stones of Shivaji’s character and personality.

Under his leadership, the Maratha Empire rose very steadfastly and very sharply. His idea to build a strong army or rather navy to safeguard India’s western coastline, which highlighted how important it is to safeguard maritime security long which was way ahead of its time.
His leadership and administrative skills were pathbreaking. He constituted a cabinet of eight ministers which was popular as the Ashta Pradhan Mandal, which worked to not only to govern but also handled and ensured accountability.
