WHEN IS PONGAL CELEBRATED?

Pongal is celebrated in mid-January every year When the Suenters n Makara (Capricorn)

DAY 1: BHOGI PONGAL

Old items are discarded to welcome new beginnings. Bonfires symbolize renewal and positivity

DAY 2: THAI PONGAL (MAIN DAY)

The main day of Pongal. Fresh rice, milk & jaggery are cooked as an offering to the Sun God.

DAY 3: MATTU PONGAL

Cows and bulls are honored for supporting agriculture. They are decorated and worshipped.

DAY 4: KAANUM PONGAL

A day for family outings, bonding, and gratitude. People visit relatives and scenic spots.
