Chaitra Navratri 2026/chaiti durga puja 2026 is the most pious and auspicious observances in Hinduism and is about worshipping the Nine forms of Maa Durga or NavDurga as we know it. Ghatasthapana (Kalash Sthapana) Muhurat
Ghatasthapana is the start of the Nine Day Festivities where a Kalash or a sacred pot is installed which represents Maa Durga.

1. Saptami
On Saptmi, Maa Kalaratri is worshipped and Maa is symbolic of positivity, destruction of negativity and spiritual discipline and mental peace. On Saptami, one can feel darkness getting removed and a new brighter day coming in.
2. Maha Ashtami
Maha Ashtami or Durga Ashtami is the strongest and most powerful day this Nine Day Festivity. On this Day Kanjak or Kanya Puja is done where eight young girls and one young boy called Langur is invited at home and worshipped and presented with prasad consisting of Halwa, Kale Chane and Puri.
3. Navami
Navami is the conclusion of Navratri and also the birth anniversary of Shri Ram called Ram Navami is celebrated which makes it super special.
In a year, four Navratri are celebrated but lets talk about Chaitra Navratri:
1. Start of the Hindu New Year
Chaitra Navratri 2026 is the start of the new lunar positioning and Hindu New Year which is celebrated across the country by different names like Gudi Padwa and Ugadi.
2. Ram Navami 2026
Ram Navami is the final day of Chaitri Navratri 2026 and is the best time to introspect about Shri Ram’s values and ideals.
3. Celebration of Harvest and Spring
Celebrated during spring representing fresh start, energy, brightness and new beginnings.
4. Simpler Celebrations
Chaitri Navratri is not a grand and happening time like Sharad Navratri, but is more culturally anf spiritually grounded and has rituals like vrat, Puja, Kanjak and meditation.
