Nombu Muhurat is the Shubh Muhurat when the devotees or the women observing the Vrat tie the pious dhaga or thread and do the puja during the time when the transition from Maasi to Panguni specifically happens as this is the most spirited time.
This observance is motivated by the saga of Savitri and Satyavan. As per Mahabharata, the famous Hindu epic, Savitri was a very faithful loving wife to her husband Satyavan, but it was known information that Satyavan will die in the first year of his marriage.
On the day of his death, Savitri was not ready to leave Satyavan alone and went behind him to the forest. When Yamraj the God of death was taking away Saytyavan ki Aatma or soul with him Savitri followed him there also and was adamant that she will not leave him at any cost. Yama after seeing her perseverance and blessed her to ask for boon or Vardan.
She asked that she and Satyavan be blessed with 100 sons, and for this to happen, Satyavan was eventually returned back to life by Yam.
