Republic Day is a commemoration to the proud day on which the Constitution of India came into force which was on 26 January 1950. It was on this day that India became a Republic by superseding the colonial Government of India Act, 1935.

On the 15th of August, 1947 India got its freedom from colonialism and the British but on the 26th of January, 1950 the country became a sovereign democratic republic in true sense The historic day of 26 January was selected and elected to pay a tribute to the very relevant day of Purna Swaraj declaration of 1930. It was a historic day when the citizens of the country when Indians committed and declared comprehensive and total freedom and independence from British rule.

In order to provide the nation with its own blueprint and structure, a commitee called the Constituent Assembly, was formed which is Governed and Chaired by Dr. B. R.
