Narada Jayanti 2026 will be observed on the Pratipada or the first day of Krishna Paksha in the month of Jyeshtha governed by the position of the moon as per Hindu Panchang and as per South Indian Panchang, it is observed on Pratipada or the first day of Krishna Paksha in the month of Vaishakh.
Narada Jayanti is observed on the next day of Buddh Purnima or Vaishakh Purnima.

Life Story and History of देवऋषि नारद मुनि (Devrishi Narada Muni)
Narada Muni has been highly regarded in Hindu sagas, Puranas and the epic Mahabharata. Narad Ji is seen as a roaming and wandering Rishi with a Veena called Mahati in his hands spreading divine knowledge everywhere.
Narada Ji was born as the son of Brahma Ji who is the creator of the universe amongst the divine Trinity. However, his journey to becoming a divine sage is deeply inspiring.
In one of his previous births, Narad Ji was born as the son of a house help. While the Chaturmas was going on, he served great sages and absorbed their teachings. Through their blessings and his devotion, he gained extreme faith towards Bhagwan Vishnu. He was thereafter reborn as Narada Muni, an extremely wise divine Rishi or sage.
Daksha Prajapati once got very angry and cursed Narada in his anger as Narad Muni convinced his sons on the Path of Bhakti and thereafter they refused to marry. Since Narada was the one who was telling everyone how to achieve moksha, Dakshi gave him Shraap that Narada would not achieve moksha himself and wander the universe.
Narad Ji is often seen as a “troublemaker” as he has been said to instigate and incite some problems. But the truth behind these actions of his was a divine truth. He was one of the focal points in many mythological stories, guiding kings, sages and even gods to the right path of Virtue and divinity.

Narada Jayanti 2026 Puja Vidhi
1. Early Morning Rituals
Wake up at Brahma Muhurat and take a bath.
2. Prepare Puja Place
Put dols or pictures of Bhagwan Vishnu and Narada Muni and light a diya.
3. Sankalp
Take a vow to observe the fast with honesty and sincerity.
4. Bhog
Offer fruits, tulsi leaves, sweets and पंचामृत (milk, curd, honey, sugar, ghee).
5. Reciting Mantras and Bhajans
- Chant Vishnu mantras or Vishnu Sahasranama
- Recite Narada Bhakti Sutras if possible as they teach that Bhakti is the highest path to God
- Sing bhajans or kirtans
6. Aarti
Sing aarti for both Vishnu Ji and Narada Muni.
7. Fasting
Many devotees do Nirjala Vrat or Phalahari Vrat as per your physical health.
8. Daan
