Ram Navami is about celebrating the sacred day of Bhagwan Sri Ram’s birth. He was born in the sacred city Ayodhya. Prabhu Ram is the symbol of Satya, Dharma and Maryada and from here he gets the name Maryada Puroshottam.
On this day, followers keep Vrat, read Ramayan, Ramcharita Manas and pray and wish for health and wealth of family and loved ones, for happiness for spirituality and prosperity. The day is very important for those who are craving peaceful familial bonds, virtue and balance in life and thoughts.
After doing a Nirjala Vrat or a Phalahari Vrat as per your physical health situation, the fast is broken after the Navami Tithi ends or on Dashami Tithi as per Hindu Panchang.
Some also do the Vrat only till Madhyahna puja or Shri Ram’s birth time.
