Durga Ashtami 2026 is the day when Maa Durga said to obliterate the strong demon King Mahishasura stressing the truth of win of good over evil. Day 8 of the 9day/10 day long Navratri or Dura Puja is known as Maha Ashtami. This propitious day is dedicated to Maa Mahagauri, the eighth roop of NavDurga who is a symbol of chastity, virtue, integrity, penance, abstinence, determination, peace, patience and sympathy.
